This research paper explores the concept of restorative justice or an alternative form of justice its varied forms and practices across the globe. It focuses on the restorative justice system as an alternative to solve the problems of existing criminal justice system. Restorative practices gives an angle where offender help to repair the harm of victim, at the same time priority to victim, and community is given opportunity to participate in taking decision against offender. This practices aims to restore the harm, by restoring offender, victim as well as community at large. Research also focuses on various restorative justices practices followed across the globe, its merit over existing justice system, how inclusion of the process in criminal justice system as an alternative to punishment can be beneficial to solve various problems like overcrowding in prison, long delay in criminal trials, victims dissatisfaction.

The present work is based on the analysis of human psyche that is affected by caste, gender politics and other forms of discrimination prevalent in the society. Fears, aspirations, dreams and hopes are analysed in relation to their context with possible reasons for people‟s behaviours. Values, morals, teachings, lessons, hidden meanings are all universal and relevant in appeal and form even today as the basic characteristics of humans remain the same, despite the fact that they were created in symbolic period of time. The present research paves way for further explication of the elements of folktales inherent in other forms of literature, movies and multimedia to see the extent of dissemination and adaptation.

Maturity is the potential to respond to the environment in a suitable manner. This response is normally realized as an alternative than instinctive, and is no longer decided with the aid of one's age. Emotional maturity is characterized by way of ability to end up fascinated in things and persons, to do things for their very own sake, to supply love to other persons. By keeping these things in mind the researcher has planned to study the emotional maturity of the secondary school students studying at Kalahandi and Bolangir districts of Odisha. Aims: The aim and objective of the study is to analyze the emotional maturity of the secondary school students of Kalahandi and Bolangir districts of Odisha. Method: The sample was selected to match the study and help in achieving the purpose of the study. A sample of 1000 secondary school Students was selected for the present research. Out of a 1000 secondary school students 500 boys and 500 girls chosen randomly from 32 Government and Private secondary schools Kalahandi and Bolangir district of Odisha by using purposive sampling method. The researcher has adopted descriptive research design for this study and using Emotional Maturity Scale developed by Bhargava and Singh (1990) for data collection. Statistical Analysis Used: Data emerging from the mentioned studies have been statistically analyzed for comparing mean scores and computing the magnitude on emotional maturity of secondary school students in Kalahandi and Bolangir districts of Odisha, respectively. Findings: The finding of the study reported that there was not any significant difference in various areas of emotional maturity of government and private school students, no significant difference in the emotional maturity level of boys and girls school students, and there is no significant difference between in the emotional maturity level of rural and urban secondary school students of both districts of Odisha

The plight of internally displaced persons are better imagined than experienced. Internally displaced persons (IDPs) are people who have lost their means of livelihood as a result of some form of insecurity such as insurgency which forced them out of their natural or preferred domiciles. Left on their own fate, with little or no care,IDPs are confronted with divergent livelihood vulnerabilities ranging from healthcare to broken kinship ties.This paper presents an empirical data gathering experience among internally displaced persons in New Kuchingoro and Area 1 IDP Camps in Abuja, Nigeria. The study adopted a concurrent mixed research method comprising questionnaires for quantitative and Key Informant Interviews KII for qualitative data gatheringfrom a sample size of 969 generated from a population of 7,573 using the Taro Yamane Statistical formula.The major challenges experienced were access to the camps coupled with skepticism on the essence of the interview and fear of victimization. Despite all the challenges, the paper recommends that field work as a sociological research process should be encouraged among scholars, and the experience could bring about appreciation of what could be termed “Practical Sociology” which involves going there, seeing the people and hearing them personally narrate their experiences bythemselves.
