Editorial Process, Peer-Review, and Production

When authors submit their articles to International Journal Of Arts, Humanities And Social Studies, we follow a strict peer-review process. This process is called single blind peer-review, which means that the reviewers know the authors’ identities, but the authors do not know the reviewers’ identities.

Once a manuscript is submitted, the Managing Editor takes charge of the entire editorial process, including peer-review, decision-making, possible author revisions, manuscript acceptance, copyediting, English editing, proofreading, and final publication. An Associate Editor is assigned to the submitted article and will choose or recommend reviewers.

Each manuscript receives at least two reports, and sometimes three if the first two reports differ substantially. Reviewers must hold a PhD, should not have published with the authors in the past three years, and must have recent publications in the field relevant to the manuscript.

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief, Guest Editor, or a suitable Associate Editor, usually after the author’s revisions. Normally, we allow no more than two rounds of major revisions.

After a manuscript is accepted for publication, the Managing Editor takes care of the production process, which involves copyediting, English editing, and final preparation for publication on our journal website. International Journal Of Arts, Humanities And Social Studies is organized in yearly volumes with two issues per year. However, we publish articles online immediately after their acceptance and production.

From 2024, the names of the Academic Editors who have made the acceptance decision after full peer-review will be included as the Academic Editor on the published manuscript. This is at the Academic Editor’s discretion. Guest Editors of Special Issues are also required to have their names included on manuscripts they have accepted for publication.
